The Holocaust Research Task Force

The Holocaust Research Task Force (HRSG) is a multidisciplinary group of female scholars actively working on individual Holocaust-related projects. Our members include a journalist, a prose writer, a public artist, a poet, an art photographer, a sociologist, a professor of public health and a filmmaker. The HRSG provides constructive, feminist critiques of each individual’s ongoing work, as well as in-depth discussions of broad Holocaust-related themes and issues, including how gender affects evolving narratives of the Holocaust. Holocaust as well as the methodology, process and product of individual projects. The group hosts annual public events at Brandeis University sponsored by HBI to engage Brandeis University’s participation and initiate broader national and international dialogue about the continuing impact of the Holocaust and its relationship to contemporary issues.

Presented by the Holocaust Research Study Group (HRSG)

A panel discussion with presentations by eight women scholars, artists and writers in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day. Who, past and present, can tell stories about the history of the Holocaust and its significance? A gender perspective expands our understanding and awareness of the Holocaust to include the lives, actions, and heroism of women. The focus on women’s voices and how stories are told informs this event and will initiate a dialogue about Jewish history, gender studies, the Holocaust, and our world today.
