A new “state-of-the-art” animal research facility was inaugurated on Tuesday at Jawaharlal Nehru University.
According to a statement from the university, the facility is supported by the National Installation Project of the Drug and Pharmaceuticals Research Program (DPRP), Department of Science and Technology.
“This facility was developed by Labinnovision to meet the demands of advanced research using athymic / immunosuppressed mice and transgenic animals. This facility will be useful to serve ongoing research projects involving preclinical animal models at JNU, ”he said.
The laboratory will also be beneficial in collaborative research projects at JNU.
“JNU has developed this state-of-the-art animal research facility that will improve the quality and spectrum of biomedical research investigations at JNU. It will further provide training and exhibition on how to ethically handle and use valuable laboratory animals to researchers and young scientists working in various fields of life sciences and systems medicine, ”a Vice-Chancellor Mr. Jagadesh Kumar said in the statement.
