Katy Perry to headline Pokémon’s 25th anniversary celebration this year

The video game and entertainment franchise has said it will celebrate its 25th anniversary with music and activations throughout its franchise, including mobile apps, animation and merchandise.
The Pokémon International Company has partnered with Universal Music Group for Brands on a music program called “P25 Music” with Katy Perry as “First Collaborator.”
“Pokémon has been a constant in my life, from playing the original video games on my Game Boy, trading Pokémon TCG cards at lunch, to the adventures of catching Pokémon on the streets with Pokémon GO.

The company said details of the program will be announced throughout the year.
Other parts of the celebration will center on the new website where fans will find new activities such as relive trips through Pokémon regions. It plays in March with the Galar region of “Pokémon Sword” and “Pokémon Shield” and ends with the Kanto region of the original games “Pokémon Red” and “Pokémon Blue”.
Other brands that will be featured in the anniversary celebration include Build-A-Bear Workshop, General Mills, Levi’s and McDonald’s. Special merchandise will be offered by Jazwares, Scholastic, Mattel, Funko, PowerA and The Wand Company.
There will be a special collection on the theme of the 25th anniversary of Pokémon Trading Cards introduced later in the year.
