Short Bio:

I am investigating the sources of Salmonella contamination in vegetable farm irrigation ponds located far from livestock operations. Contaminated irrigation water has the potential to cause widespread outbreaks of food-borne illness. Possible sources of contamination include human and wildlife activity, and impacts of these sources on Salmonella loads may depend on pond conditions and landscape-level factors affecting storm water runoff.
